Ben Ferris Quintet's debut album "Home" is an all-original modern-jazz/creative music project of the Madison, Wisconsin based ensemble. The music reflects on modern events and issues such as pollinator protection, gun violence, information access and immigration, with original compositions by Ben Ferris, Paul Dietrich and Nicholas Bartell.
Recorded over two days at Audio for the Arts studios (Buzz Kemper, engineer/mixer), with original artwork by Georgina Rutherford.

Ben Ferris - Bassist Madison, Wisconsin

Bassist and Educator from Madison, WI. A student of NEA Jazz Master Richard Davis, he graduated with a music-education degree from UW-Madison in 2013. Ben performs regularly in the midwest, especially with the Ben Ferris Trio, a creative music ensemble that focuses on new compositions by musicians in the band. He also leads the Ben Ferris Octet, and is 1/4 of the new music ensemble Mr. Chair. ... more
